This financial crisis is forcing government to make some tough decisions. If things continue for much longer, there's a real risk that we may have to lay off Jose.

I am thinking of striking a committee to try and figure out what to do with poor Jose when he gets laid off. Maybe if he gave up a few of his obvious benefits his company might survive.
This would be funny if it wasn’t so painful to realize how much truth there is to it.
